Cheryl Cameron is an Advanced Care Paramedic currently working in a strategic policy and leadership role with Emergency Health Services (Ministry of Health, Government of Alberta). She was the lead for the development and implementation of the Alberta EMS Palliative/End of Life Care Assess, Treat and Refer program, partnering paramedics and community palliative care providers to support patients at home with symptom crisis (rather than transport to the emergency department). Cheryl now supports the spread of this initiative across Canada as faculty with the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, where 7 other jurisdictions are implementing similar work. Cheryl is also a content expert on for Paramedics and project manager with Canadian Virtual Hospice. She is a member of the leadership team at the Paramedic Pay it Forward Award and a Fellow with the McNally Project for Paramedic Research.
