Bio

Ashley Mollison, PhD(c) is the program coordinator for all things equity and palliative care in the Palliative Approaches research collaborative at the University of Victoria (PI, Dr. Kelli Stajduhar, www.palliativeapproaches.uvic.ca). This collaborative works to conduct research and develop and evaluate equity-oriented palliative care approaches, programs, and services across the country. Her current work focuses on family caregiving at the end-of-life in contexts of inequity such as poverty, homelessness, stigma, criminalization, and isolation. For over 15 years, Ashley has held various roles in relation to inner city communities such as volunteer, researcher, front line worker, community organizer, and caregiver. Ashley is a settler with predominantly Scottish and Irish ancestry and is grateful to live on Treaty 7 Territories home to the Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, and Aamskapi Pikuni), Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda as well as people of the Métis Nation Region 3.
